Luwen Wan wins Love Data Week raffle

Story

Smiling woman standing outdoors holding up a poster that shows an illustrated scene of beavers and their lodge on the banks of a river.

Congratulations to Luwen Wan, the lucky winner of one of the 2024 Love Data Week Raffle prizes! A Postdoctoral Fellow with the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, Luwen got to pick an image from the Libraries' extensive digital collections to be printed as a poster for her prize. Given her research interests -- understanding the behaviors and patterns of the North American beaver as a means for fostering sustainable waterways -- Luwen chose this 1837 hand-colored print reproduction (pictured above) from the Barry Lawrence Ruderman Map Collection for her poster. We had the poster printed conveniently at the Lathrop Learning Hub. Luwen was delighted to receive her prize and hang it in her office!
